Both solar and wind power are wonderful green energy sources that cannot be exhausted. Wind turbines can harness electricity during the day or night, effectively producing more electricity than solar panels. Newer small wind turbines are also entering the market for small-scale use. Another big difference between them is how they use power.

 

Wind turbines are very different. While solar panels generate energy because of changes at the atomic level, wind turbines harness the kinetic energy of the wind and convert it into electricity. The kinetic energy of the wind is captured by the blades of a wind turbine, which always has three blades. The blades then rotate, and inside the turbine there is a shaft connected to the gearbox, which is turned by the rotation of the blades. The gearbox in turn increases the revs by 100. The increased rotational speed spins the generator, which produces electrical energy (power).

Once wind generator voltage is lower than battery voltage, controller starts boost module automatically. Wind generator voltage is increased to the charging voltage, and it is boost charging. When wind generator voltage is higher than battery voltage, in order to acquire max power, buck module of controller will be started, the generator is buck charging.Loads lower the revolution speed of wind generator, when it is breeze. That decreases the output power of wind generator. Through max current tracking (MCT) and max power point tracking (MPPT), output of wind generator is stabilized at the max balance of wind energy utilization. Combine with boost and buck function, wind energy utilization is increased.
