These blades are mainly used to remove the kinetic energy (KE) of the wind and convert it into mechanical energy. These types of blades are designed with wood epoxy or glass fiber reinforced polyester. Depending on the design, these turbines include at least one blade and at most multiple blades.
Most horizontal axis wind turbines include three blades attached to the rotor hub. In the early days, turbines based on multi-blade were used as single-blade, double-blade and triple-blade for grinding and pumping water etc.
The nacelle includes different components for efficient operation of the wind turbine, such as gearboxes, brakes, controls, low and high speed shafts and generators. It is mounted on top of the tower and the blades are mounted on the pod.
